A fast food resource to take away...

There are plenty of opportunities for fast food these days. One of the fastest foods that you can get though, is the POT NOODLE.

They are made in a factory in Crumlin, Wales.

I'm currently putting together a teaching resource based around POT NOODLES, as an alternative to the usual industrial products that might be used for a context: open cast mining, iron and steel in South Wales, the Toyota plant at Burnaston etc.

Why choose this location for the factory ?

What links this location, and the product that is made here, to the rest of the world ?

What particular inputs, processes and outputs are involved, and how important are they relative to each other ?

If anyone has any POT NOODLE related content that might go into this scheme of work, or ideas for developing it further, please get in touch.
This, again, will see the light of day at the GA CONFERENCE.

UPDATE
Had the following response to my query for more details on Pot Noodle, so may go for a different product instead...

Unfortunately, we don't have any relevant information which we can send you. However, you might like to look at our company website - www.unilever.co.uk - which has a lot of information about our company and brands. You will also find links to some other useful websites. I'm sorry that I am unable to assist you any further on this occasion, but
good luck with your project.
